At our meeting on Monday 10th November in the Myton and Mermaid Hotel, Atcham, Shrewsbury, Jean made a comment that our life and people skills book will be a' must read' for all teenagers and parents should encourage as many older children as possible to read and comment on our blog. She pointed out that had such a book been available when she was a teenager it would have been a great asset in dealing with her problems with dyslexia.
With that aim in mind, I contacted the Careers Advice Service who deal with 13 -19 years old teenagers with a view to seeking professional advice and a possible interview with management. We intend to discuss our project with them at length, in order to validate our opinion.
On 22 and 23 November Jean and I are attending a professional life coaching course. Jean is already a fully qualified life coach but she feels that the course and my qualification will benefit our training company and future publication project. On 26 and 27 November I am attending an advanced presentation skills course in London and intend to prepare full presentations on all our projects. This will enable us to receive valuable feedback and opinions on our progress to date.
Following a very successful social evening with a Shrewsbury based ladies Networking Group 'Networking with Style' (NWS) and working with the Director of a local Training Company I decided to help launch a men only Networking group in the local area. The group which will be called 'Strength in Numbers Networking' (SNN) has its first meeting on Tuesday 11th November in Telford and will meet once a month. The Group will provide valuable support, help and assistance to small business members in Shropshire and the West Midlands especially in the present financial and employment climate. I intend to issue a press release to local press and media as an aid to recruitment as soon as possible.
